Marshwood Announces National Merit Scholarship Commended Students

by Jorden Mitchell

Marshwood High School is proud to announce that three seniors have been recognized as National Merit commended students. These students are Michael Vitorri, Aaron Slover, and Isabella Burke. They were chosen because of their above average PSAT scores, and over 1.5 million students took the PSATs. The scores are only considered for national merit when you are a junior, and according to collegeboard.com “the average Selection Index for students in eleventh grade is about 141.” Kate Pouliot, also one of the National Merit students, is still in the running to receive a scholarship as a semifinalist.
