This spring the musical will be a production of “Legally Blonde.” The story is about Elle Woods, a Delta Nu Sorority sister, who loves wearing everything pink, including those matching handbags. She’s is girl on a mission: to impress her super hot, not so smart ex-boyfriend, Warner Huntington III.
The movie, released in 2001, was made into a musical back in 2008 and is now being performed by the students of Marshwood High School. Many students auditioned but the lead part of “Elle Woods” was given to sophomore, Isabella Etro. She has performed in many of the plays performed at the school.
The musical will be directed by Ms. Tanya West, music teacher at Marshwood High School. Ms. West has been directing all the school plays since she has been teaching at Marshwood. She feels that putting together the play will be crazy, but it will be great.
Tess Limoggio, a senior, has been a big part of the music program at Marshwood. Whether she’s performing in chorus or in the plays, she enjoys every minute of it.
“ I am playing Enid Hoopes. She’s a law student at Harvard Law School. She’s also a tree hugger and a hippie,” states senior, Tess who has appeared in most of the school’s musicals“ I practice several times a week, whether I’m memorizing lines or practicing the songs.”
“Legally Blond, the musical,” had its first rehearsal on January 9, 2012 and it was a big turn out. The actors and actresses are learning choreography as well as music.
A lot of hard work will be going into this musical and cast members would love for a big turnout at their premiere of “Legally Blond, the Musical.” Come see it on March 29, 30 and the 31 at 7 pm.. It’s going to be a rockin’ show.

“We had our first rehearsal last night and we read through the script. It was a lot of fun to have everyone gathered for the first time,” said Tess. “ It’s crazy and hectic but also a lot of fun. The cast becomes a family at the end of the three months we are together for rehearsing the show.”
